Vintage Textiles

Building on centuries of textile tradition, Tai artisans in Burma, Thailand, and Laos generally compose their woven works on frame looms worked by treadles. Near Vientiane, Boungkong Singavogn’s home city, supplementary warp is used to create unique patterns. These wonderful unique pieces date to around 1920 and were created with the old techniques.
